Privacy Policy

Principal Well ("we," "us," or "the app") is a wellness and restoration companion made for school leaders. Your privacy — especially the privacy of the personal reflections you write here — is at the very center of how this app is built. This policy explains, in plain language, what we do and do not collect.
The short version
The personal things you write in Principal Well — your journal entries, your "Why," your Pulse ratings, your Sunday Reset notes, your coloring — are stored only on your own device. We do not upload them, we cannot read them, and we never sell them. The only information that ever leaves your device is what you actively choose to send (such as a permission slip to a colleague) and the limited account information needed to manage your subscription.
Information stored on your device
The following stays in your phone or browser's local storage and is never transmitted to us:
- Your journal entries and voice-to-text reflections
- Your personal "Why" and Lifeline notes
- Your Pulse / leadership-load ratings
- Sunday Reset notes, saved recipes, decompression artwork
- Your in-app preferences and settings
Because this data lives only on your device, clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app will permanently delete it. We cannot recover it for you.
Information we may collect
To provide and manage the service, we (and our payment and email providers) may collect:
- Account & billing information — your email address and the subscription details needed to process payment. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processor and are not stored by us.
- Basic, non-identifying usage information — such as anonymous, aggregated analytics that help us understand which features are helpful. This does not include the content of anything you write.
- Email communications — if you join our list or contact us, we store your email address to reply and, where you've opted in, to send updates.
Things you choose to send
Some features let you send something out of the app — for example, sending a permission slip or a reflection by email. When you do, that content is transmitted so it can be delivered. Messages sent through the app are delivered from hello@principalwell.com on your behalf; recipients do not see your personal email address unless you choose to share it.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the app
- To process your subscription and send service-related messages
- To respond to your questions and support requests
- To send updates only where you have asked us to
What we never do
- We never sell your personal information.
- We never read the private reflections you store on your device.
- We never share your information with advertisers.
Third-party providers
We rely on trusted third parties to operate — for example, a payment processor to handle subscriptions and an email provider to send messages. These providers only receive the information needed to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
Your choices
You can clear all of your on-device data at any time from within the app (Settings → Clear my data) or by clearing your browser storage. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link in the message, or by writing to us. You may request that we delete the account information we hold by contacting us.
Children's privacy
Principal Well is intended for adult school leaders and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
